Schatz says he’d like to run for governor in 2018
Democratic lieutenant governor nominee Brian Schatz is saying he’d like to run for the state’s top job in 2018.
Schatz is on the Democratic ticket with gubernatorial contender Neil Abercrombie.
At a Honolulu Rotary Club forum Tuesday, Schatz and Republican lieutenant governor candidate Lynn Finnegan were asked if their party’s ticket won on Nov. 2, whether they’d run for governor eight years hence.
According to KITV, Finnegan declined to answer directly, saying she wants to take first things first. She currently is a state representative and is running with the GOP gubernatorial nominee, Lt. Gov. James “Duke” Aiona.
Schatz, a former Democratic Party chairman, says he would like to run for governor in 2018.
