Victims in alleged check fraud find suspect and turn him in
The victims of an alleged check fraud scheme found the man who took their cash and turned him into police yesterday.
Police said the 22-year-old suspect approached three people at a bar on Oct. 5 and asked them to cash several checks from a closed bank account.
The victims — a 21-year-old man, 20-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man — found the suspect in Chinatown and took him to police, who arrested him at 10:10 last night.
Charges are pending.
