A Circuit Court judge sentenced Albert Agoot this morning to 20 years in prison for abducting a 13-year-old girl, tying her up with duct tape and raping her in his pickup truck in the driveway of his parents’ home.

Agoot, 20,  pleaded guilty in August to kidnapping, robbery and multiple counts of sexual assault. The robbery charge was for taking the girl’s mobile telephone so she couldn’t call for help.

Deputy City Prosecutor Thalia Murphy said the girl is still affected by what happened to her in April. She said the girl is afraid to go out at night and is angry.

Murphy said she agreed to the 20-year sentence as part of a plea deal to spare the girl from having to testify in trial.

Agoot called the girl on her cell phone and told her a boy, over whom the girl had a crush, was in the hospital dying of cancer. The story was false.

The girl agreed to let Agoot pick her up to take her to the hospital. But instead he drove her down the street, choked and threatened her.

Agoot used tape to bind the girl’s hands behind her back and to cover her eyes. He took her to Foster Village where he raped her outside his parent’s home.

The girl told police as Agoot was raping her he repeatedly hit her on the back of her head, told her he had a gun and threatened to shoot and kill her. When Agoot went into the home for a drink of water, the girl escaped and ran down the street to her parent’s home naked from the waist down and with her hands still bound behind her back.
