Another weekly honor for Aspnas
For the fourth time this season, Hawaii Pacific’s Frida Aspnas was named the runner of the week in women’s cross country. The sophomore from Sweden finished second by 9 seconds in Saturday’s Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem, Ore., helping the Sea Warriors to a 14th-place finish.

» HPU: Ina Marie Hjorth (18:09, 27th). Kim Kuhnert (19:21, 104th), Lynette Manuel (20:26, 176th) and Hailey Grossman (20:38, 195th) were part of the Sea Warriors’ 14th-place finish on the 5K course.

» HPU: Anders Ludvigsen (26:04.61, 97th), Rasmus Folino (26:47.44, 137th), Jon Cleghorn (26:57.90, 146th), and Craig Kandler (28:08.56, 194th) led HPU to a 17th-place finish on the 8K course at the Bowles Invitational.

Weekly honor to Chaminade’s Minor
Chaminade senior goalkeeper Marissa Minor (Konawaena ’07) was named the PacWest player of the week in women’s soccer yesterday. Minor had a 1.000 save percentage, stopping all 17 shots by Academy of Art in the two 1-0 victories last week.

» Natasha Aiono, BYUH: The senior midfielder scored three goals last week as the Seasiders went 2-0-1 to take the PWC lead.
» Emily Mearns, BYUH: The senior forward had two goals, including the game-winner in the 2-1 victory at Grand Canyon.
» Megan McCain, BYUH: The freshman goalie stopped 12 of 15 shots for the Seasiders.
» Brienna Maestas, Chaminade: The freshman midfielder scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Academy of Art.
» Tiffany Nakata, Chaminade: The freshman forward (Kailua ’10) scored the only goal in the win over Academy of Art and assisted on the only goal in the second 1-0 win over the Urban Knights.

» Chance Bukoski, HPU: The junior forward (Kapaa ’08) had two goals and added an assist as the Sea Warriors beat Dixie State twice, 1-0 and 2-1.
» Kay Flache, HPU: The junior goalie stopped six of seven shots in two wins at Dixie State.
» Ian Sutherland, Academy of Art: The sophomore goalie (Assets ’09) had two shutouts for the Urban Knights and stopped 14 of 17 shots.

» Hillary Hurley, UHH: The junior hitter had 22.5 points — 19 kills, two aces and three block assists — in a sweep of Chaminade.
» Leinani Keanini, Academy of Art. The junior hitter (‘Iolani ’08) had a combined 52 digs as the Urban Knights outlasted Dixie State twice in five.
» Kylee Pedro, Chaminade: The sophomore middle (Kailua ’09) had the top hitting percentage in the confernce last week (.529).
» Kyra Pelayo, HPU: The junior defensive specialist had 20 digs in a sweep of BYUH.
» Katie Swenson, UHH: The senior setter led the conference in assists (14.33) with 43 in a sweep of Chaminade.
