‘Iolani grad hauls in enough votes to join in on new Fanta commercial
Thanks to her Hawaii supporters, ‘Iolani School graduate Marisa Wahl is getting some face time in a national TV commercial.
According to her mother, Susan Foo, Wahl placed second out of the 500 entrants who participated in the nationwide "Search for the Fourth Fantana" contest to join the group of spokesmodels who promote Coca-Cola’s Fanta brand of soft drinks.
Contestants submitted one-minute videos to the Fanta website that showcased their singing and dancing talents. Online voting determined the top three finalists, including Wahl, who were then sent to the Coca-Cola headquarters in Atlanta, where the commercial was shot.
Foo said the spot has been airing on MTV.
Wahl was a member of the Miss L.A. Chinatown court and is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s film school. She is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at Loyola Marymount University.
