Children and Youth Day, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 3 at the Frank F. Fasi Civic Center Grounds, Kalanimoku Building Grounds, Hawaii State Library Grounds, Hawaii State Art Museum, Washington Place, ‘Iolani Palace, Punchbowl Street, Department of Health Parking Lot and the Judiciary History Center, is a part of a monthlong celebration of island keiki that has been occurring the first Sunday in October since 1994. This year’s theme is Haehu, which means to grow well. Event highlights are listed below:

» Washington Place Tours and Musical Program: Guided walking tours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Kamehameha Schools Middle School Kapalama, Na Opio Ensemble at 10 a.m.; Mid-Pacific Institute Choir at 10:30 a.m.; Cantilena Ensemble of Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus at 11 a.m.; Scelto, Naleokuho’okahi and Gioventu Ensembles, HYOC at 11:30 a.m.; and Angeli Ensemble, HYOC at 12:30 p.m. Admission by ticket only.
