» The Play: CB Jeramy Bryant gets perfect position and intercepts Toscano’s short pass. He returns it 23 yards to the Charleston Southern 27.
» Impact: Hawaii converts its first interception of the season into a touchdown, as Moniz hits SB Kealoha Pilares for a 12-yard score. It is Pilares’ second touchdown catch of the game and seventh of the season. Hawaii forced three turnovers.
» Bryant: "We’re tired of being embarrassed. We’re trying to get back to the old Hawaii, how things used to be around here."

3. "BUM-BYE"

» The Play: Moniz hands off to RB Alex Green, who laterals back to Moniz. Moniz finds SB Greg Salas way behind the safeties for a 40-yard touchdown pass.
» Impact: The flea-flicker, named "bum-bye" by Hawaii, was added to the attack by offensive coordinator Nick Rolovich the day before the game. The touchdown is the first of the season for Salas, who had eight in 2009.
» Green: "I’m a good actor. I took acting classes in middle school."

4. FIT TO BE TIED

» The Play: Moniz throws a shovel pass to Green, who goes 66 yards for his first of two touchdowns.
» Impact: With his sixth touchdown pass, Moniz ties the school record for one half — held by Rolovich and Colt Brennan.
» Rolovich: "He doesn’t have to worry. He’ll probably get the record before he’s done. He’ll have a bunch of them."

5. NO SLIDE

» The Play: Moniz scrambles 19 yards to the 1.
» Impact: The play is eerily similar, and on the same part of the field, as a Moniz scramble in the USC game that resulted in a hit that knocked him out of the game. This time, Moniz is fine, and on the next play he rushes for a 1-yard touchdown. Hawaii ends up "winning" the third quarter for the first time this season, and on the next series Hawaii begins wholesale substitutions.
» Moniz: "That’s why we came out with the first string in the third quarter. This season we had started off slow in the third quarter, so they wanted to work on that."
