Prosecutors charged a 30-year-old Wahiawa man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 25-year-old woman Wednesday at the Wahiawa Shoping Center.

Tyrone Smith Jr. was charged Saturday with first-degree sexual assault, kidnapping and second-degree robbery and was being held on $500,000 bail.

He was arrested Friday at his home.

Police said the woman was walking down the stairs at 823 California Ave. when a man came up from behind, demanded money, then sexually assaulted her and took her belongings.
