Helicopter looking for missing hikers near Volcano
A Hawaii County Fire Department helicopter was looking this morning for three missing hikers who spent the night in the forest in the Volcano area after getting lost while hiking the Captain’s Trail.
The three males were reported missing at 6:36 p.m. last night. The fire department said they were unfamiliar with the area and trails and got lost.
Fire Department rescuers were unable to reach the hikers, but were able to obtain coordinates from their cell phones.
