A 27-year-old Waikiki man, who has been charged with kidnapping a teenage girl and forcing her into prostitution, is also a suspect in another kidnapping and sex assault.

Mukadin Daquan Gordon appeared in District Court Wednesday to face charges of kidnapping, four counts of first-degree sex assault, and first-degree promoting prostitution. His bail was set at $500,000.

According to court documents, on Sunday, the 17-year-old girl messaged her sister through Facebook and said she was scared and being held against her will.

Officers responded to the Ala Wai King Apartments, at 2003 Ala Wai Boulevard, and detained Gordon, who had a Washington state ID. The girl was safe inside the apartment.

Speaking in almost a whisper, she told an officer that she ran away from home on Saturday after arguing with her mother about her boyfriend, whom her mother doesn’t like.

She called Gordon and ended up at his apartment about 7 that night, where he allegedly wouldn’t let her see her boyfriend or go for a walk.

The girl told the officer that Gordon had her work as a prostitute about two months earlier, and a criminal case was pending. She also said that while in the apartment, Gordon wanted her “to walk the street by Pali,” an area known for street prostitution, court documents said.

Gordon also carried a “stick,” a whip made of a wire metal hanger, which he repeatedly hit against the bed while saying, “you’re doing a good job, don’t **** it up,” the girl said.

Gordon has four felony convictions involving drugs and a conviction for trespassing.

Police said charges are pending against Gordon in connection with a separate kidnapping and sex assault of a 25-year-old woman in Waikiki. The woman told police he held her against her will and sexually assaulted her between Aug. 10 and 11. Gordon was released pending investigation in that case.
