Urban Honolulu on screen
Filmmaker Robert Pennybacker premieres his short film "Honolulu/Urban Vol. 1" tomorrow at Coffee Talk in Kaimuki. Free continuous screenings will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the coffee shop, located at the corner of Waialae and 12th avenues. Pennybacker, who is also vice president of creative services at PBS Hawaii, describes the short as "a thought-provoking, poetic film set in urban Honolulu."
Fall craft guides seek entries
The season for craft fairs is fast approaching, and the Today section is planning two separate guides with listings for events happening from September to November and for the winter holiday period.

Boutique keeps it green in Kaimuki
Owners of the newly opened Drift boutique in Kaimuki are asking consumers to think green.
Laura Ivy and Ale Klein have dressed the store in fixtures that are 95 percent recycled in some way or another, including wood floors salvaged from three Oahu homes and a commercial-grade steamer found in a trash pile nearby.

The shop’s lineup of local designers includes Sierra Dew, Tiare Teiti, Vers Hawaii (organic T-shirts and hand-painted caps), Khush by Pati Tombini (dresses), urgentina hawaii (swimwear, dresses, cover-ups and bags), and Lance Gentry (sunrise shell jewelry).
The boutique also carries original art by Matt Kawika Ortiz, Roxanne Chasle and others.

Teatime is stylish at the Moana
The Moana Surfrider hosts an "Afternoon Tea with Jams World" Saturday, featuring a fashion show of tropical resort wear from the kamaaina company, during the hotel’s Afternoon Tea at the Veranda.
Tea begins at noon, with the fashion show from 1 to 3 p.m. Finger sandwiches, salads, scones, pastries and chocolates are included.
