A year after they were featured on HBO’s "Hard Knocks," the Bengals have scripted their own reality show.

T.O. and Ocho. Two self-conscious stars, one NFL team.

How will they fit? How will it work? Which receiver will provide most of the drama?

And, more important, will any of it help the Bengals get back to the playoffs?

The Bengals reached a contract agreement with receiver Terrell Owens yesterday, a person familiar with the situation said. He’s expected to report to training camp in a day or two.

The Bengals were his first choice, giving him a chance to team with close friend Chad Ochocinco, who has already dubbed the pair Batman and Robin. The Bengals made an offer on Monday.

Players are required to report for the start of training camp today in Georgetown, Ky. Owens is expected to show up when workouts begin tomorrow, said the person speaking on condition of anonymity because the team had made no announcement.

Ochocinco gushed about the matchup on Twitter, welcoming Owens and joking that "all of our games have been moved to pay-per-view, you got to pay to see this."

Cody flunks conditioning test

Baltimore Ravens second-round draft pick Terrence Cody failed his conditioning test yesterday and was not permitted to participate in the team’s first training camp practice.

The 360-pound defensive tackle out of Alabama signed a three-year contract Monday and arrived at McDaniel College eager to launch his NFL career. But after flunking his physical, he was placed on the physically unable to perform list.

"Part of our process is everybody’s got to pass the conditioning test to be sure they’re ready to compete," coach John Harbaugh said after yesterday’s practice. "It’s going to be hot out here, our practices are fast. We’ve got to be sure guys are physically ready to practice at the pace we’re practicing at. So, when he passes the conditioning test, he’ll practice."

Patriots put WR Welker on PUP

Receiver Wes Welker was placed on the New England Patriots’ physically unable to perform list yesterday as he continued his strong recovery from knee surgery.

The team made the move two days before it opens training camp and there’s a chance Welker could come off the list by then and take part in drills.

Giants rookie out of hospital

New York Giants rookie safety Chad Jones is heading home to New Orleans after a nearly monthlong stay in the hospital.

The Giants say the third-round draft pick from LSU was scheduled to be released from the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan yesterday to return home.

Jones was transferred to the hospital June 29 after suffering serious injuries to his left leg and ankle in an early-morning, single-car accident in New Orleans on June 24. Jones signed his contract about a week before the accident.
