Derrick Low signs with Israeli league
Former ‘Iolani and Washington State star Derrick Low signed a one-year contract to play for the Maccabi Haifa professional basketball team of the Israeli Super league, the organization said Tuesday.
Last year Low played for BC Sialuiai in Lithuania’s top division, where he averaged 13.1 points and 5.3 assists per game.
He was named the All-Lithuanian Import Player of the Year by Eurobasket.com. He previously played professionally in France and Australia.
Low was a four-time all-state player for ‘Iolani and three-time state player of the year while leading the Raiders to three consecutive state titles.
Maccabi Haifa will travel to the United States to play the New Jersey Nets in a preseason game Oct. 3.
