Filing deadline for 2 vacant legislative seats set
The filing deadline for two newly vacated state Senate seats has been scheduled for July 30.
The state Office of Elections announced the date yesterday.
Former state Sens. Robert Bunda of Kaena and Gary Hooser of Kauai have already vacated their posts in midterm, as required by the state’s “resign-to-run” law, to seek the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor.
The candidate filing deadline for all other federal and state offices is today.
