Groundbreaking Monday for East Kapolei fire station
Groundbreaking for an East Kapolei Fire Station is scheduled to take place Monday, the Honolulu Fire Department announced today.
The $10.9 million station will be built on a two-acre site leased from the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, and will be the Honolulu Fire Department’s first fire station dedicated to emergencies within the region.
It will serve the eastern portion of downtown Kapolei, the western portion of Ewa Villages, the central portion of Kalaeloa, and surrounding communities.
The groundbreaking ceremony Monday begins at 10 a.m. at the vacant lot on Kinoiki Street between Kapolei Parkway and Kamokuiki Street.
