Rainbow Wahine seventh in NFCA poll
The Hawaii softball team’s run to the Women’s College World Series vaulted the Rainbow Wahine to No. 7 in the final USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 poll of the season.
The Rainbow Wahine (50-15) entered the postseason ranked 23rd in the poll, and jumped into the top 10 after winning the regional at Stanford and the super regional at Alabama to earn the program’s first berth in the WCWS. The Wahine defeated Missouri before losing to UCLA and Arizona to close the season.
WCWS champion UCLA received all 30 first-place votes in the poll released today and was followed by Arizona, Georgia, Tennessee, Washington, Florida, Hawaii, Missouri, Alabama and Michigan.
