High-end shoe retailer Stuart Weitzman closing tonight
Hawaii’s only Stuart Weitzman store, a high-end shoe retailer, is selling its last heels tonight.
The store, which opened in July 2008 at Ala Moana Center, is closing its doors at 9. Store manager Gillis Asao declined to comment on the decision behind the closure, deferring to the chain’s New York headquarters.
Weitzman shoes are known for using materials like cork, vinyl, Lucite, wallpaper and 24-karat gold. Shoe prices range from $150 up to above $500.
The brand is still carried by many department stores in Hawaii. Asao said the store is having a clearance sale tonight, with about 250 pairs of shoes left.
