A second man is behind bars this afternoon in connection with the stabbing of a taxi driver in Manoa two years ago. 

John Michael Walton, 23, of no local address was extradited from Lawrence, Kansas to Honolulu yesterday for his alleged involvement in the attack on 54-year-old taxi driver Minh Van Tran. 

He is being held in lieu of $500,000. 

Police were looking for Walton after the attack. In April 2009, Walton was indicted for first-degree robbery and second-degree attempted murder. 

On Nov. 15, 2008, Police said Tran drove Walton and Courage Lee Elkshoulder to Manoa on Nov. 15, 2008, when Elkshoulder allegedly stabbed Tran in the neck. Walton allegedly held Tran down and helped steal Tran’s wallet.

Tran was hospitalized at Queen’s Medical Center and later released.

Several days after the stabbing, Elkshoulder turned himself into police. He was indicted for the same charges and is awaiting trial.
