Are you ready for some football?

No, not the NFL. That’s still a few months away.

The real kind, known as football everywhere in the world except the U.S., where we call it soccer, has its quadrennial world championship known as the World Cup starting tomorrow.

Thirty-two teams representing nations around the world will be competing through July 11 in stadiums throughout South Africa, the host country, whose team will be featured in one of the two kick-off matches tomorrow.

For Americans, the first really exciting game will come Saturday, when the U.S. team faces off against England, one of the best teams in the world and the nation where the game originated—at least as it’s known today.

Regardless of who wins that match, you might want to kick back at least once or twice during the next month and enjoy literally world-class soccer, er … football, along with the billions of other TV viewers from around the world who will be doing so.

Her secret ingredient?

Another Arkansan, former President Bill Clinton, who so far is having far more luck as a campaigner than the current president.
