Commission looking at federal stimulus funds

A legislative panel is hearing how the state has used federal economic stimulus funds.

The Federal Economic Stimulus Program Oversight Commission was scheduled to hold a meeting today at 10 a.m. at the state Capitol.

The 10-member commission is getting an overview of the U.S. money received by the state from Mark Anderson, a commission member and Gov. Linda Lingle’s coordinator for the stimulus program.

It is also considering a resolution asking the panel to specify how much the state has collected, and how it has been or is to be used.
