Governor starts trip to Asia with meetings
Gov. Linda Lingle is beginning her two-week trip to Asia with several official meetings.
The governor this week is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at a group in Shanghai sponsored by the American Chamber of Commerce, where she will discuss the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative, tourism, trade and investments.
Lingle also will be a featured speaker at a forum hosted by the ELS American Education Center to promote the benefits of studying at Hawaii’s colleges and universities.
The governor later will deliver remarks at a reception hosted by Marriott International, where she will discuss initiatives to increase travel to Hawaii from China.
She is due back in Hawaii on June 19.
