Edward Nobriga was initially arrested Sunday on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.
However, following an investigation, he was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and first-degree terroristic threatening. His bail was set at $20,000.
Police said Nobriga entered his ex-girlfriend’s house on Holoilo Street in Kaneohe at 12:50 a.m. Sunday and saw her with a 42-year-old man. Nobriga allegedly threatened to kill the man and struck him with a dangerous instrument.
Driver killed in crash was Mililani resident
A motorist who died after he apparently lost control of his car and hit a tree Monday night on Meheula Parkway in Mililani was identified Tuesday as Jonathan O’Neil.
Police said O’Neil, 21, was traveling north at a high rate of speed on Meheula Parkway near Holanialii Street when he lost control and struck a tree on the median strip at 6:21 p.m.
He was taken with critical head and internal injuries to Wahiawa General Hospital, where he died. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
Police said speed and alcohol appeared to have been factors in the crash.
This was the 28th traffic fatality on Oahu this year, compared with 32 at the same time last year.
