Sergio Florian and Laurel Dudley repeated as winners of the Xterra Freedom Fest off-road triathlon on Saturday at Kualoa Ranch.
Florian claimed the men’s race by completing the 1K rough water swim, 20K mountain bike and 10K trail run in 2 hours, 17 minutes and 37 seconds. William McMahon was second in 2:27:47 and Eric Kollai placed third in 2:28:27.
Dudley, who won the women’s title for the fifth time in seven years, crossed in 2:31:34 to finish fourth overall. Amy Vasquez finished second in 2:56:28 and Courtney Bollman was third in 3:01:40.
The event was a local qualifier for the Xterra World Championship off-road triathlon to be held Nov. 1 in Kapalua, Maui.
