Construction of improvements to Pelekane Drive Bridge No. 267 in Nuuanu will begin Monday.
Mayor Kirk Caldwell said Wednesday the $353,300 contract for the project was awarded to Global Specialty Contractors Inc. The project, expected to last 300 days, includes repairing cracks and replacing corroded steel reinforcing bases along the bridge deck, bridge sidewalks and abutment wall.
The work schedule will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Road users are asked to avoid the area or consider alternate routes when possible to avoid delays. Motorists are reminded to observe and obey all traffic controls, posted signs and traffic control personnel at the work area.
