August Moon, the annual wine-tasting benefit for the Honolulu Museum of Art, returns Aug. 7.
Guests will sample dishes by local restaurants, as well as purchase art pieces while meandering through the courtyards.
More than 20 wines will be available for tasting, with many bottles for sale. But you may have to hurry, as most of the selections sold out last year.
Small bites will be provided by Chef Mavro, chef Will Chen and fresh BOX, the museum’s Art Café, Hy’s Steak House, Koko Head Café, Mission Social Hall and Café by Pili Group, Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman, Morimoto Waikiki, Off the Wall Craft, The Pig and the Lady, Stage Restaurant, 12th Ave Grill and Via Gelato.
The event runs 6 to 9 p.m. Cost is $115 advance, $125 at the door and $95 members. Tables run $650 to $10,000.
The museum is at 900 S. Beretania St.

Event captures vintage Waikiki
Take a step back in time to an era when beach boys, tiki torches and hula dancers populated Waikiki.
The Bishop Museum’s Great Lawn will be transformed into vintage Waikiki for the 17th Annual Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum Dinner fundraiser, Making Waves, on Aug. 8.
Signature mai tais will be served as Men in Grey Suits perform. Robert Cazimero and Halau Na Kamalei o Lililehua, and slack-key musician Mailani will also entertain.
Then comes a surf-and-turf-themed dinner prepared by chefs Ed Kenney (Town), Goran Streng (Tango Café), Devin Beppu (Pint and Jigger) and Chris Kajioka (Restaurant CK).
The event runs 5 to 10 p.m. Cost is $350 and attire is Waikiki-chic. Table prices start at $3,500. Go to bishopmuseum.org/pauahi.
