>> St. Louis infielder Greg Garcia (Hawaii) hit his first major league home run Friday in a pinch hit appearance, tying the game in the eighth inning against the Cubs. The Cardinals won in 10 innings. His teammate Kolten Wong (Kamehameha-Hawaii, Hawaii) is riding a streak of four games going 2-for-4 in each game with an extra-base hit. The second baseman had two RBIs apiece in three of those games. St. Louis has won seven straight and has the best record in the major leagues.
>> Boston outfielder Shane Victorino (St. Anthony) is on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket through the weekend. He is expected to continue his rehab this week with Double-A Portland.
>> Right-hander Brandon League (Saint Louis) continues his rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Barring any setbacks, the Dodgers must restore him to the major league roster by July 7.
>> Boston returned right-handed knuckleballer Steven Wright (Hawaii) to Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday. He took a 1-0 loss to Gwinnett despite giving up four hits while going the distance.
>> Tampa Bay right-handed pitcher Kirby Yates (Kauai), who has battled injuries and ineffectiveness all season was called up to the majors Tuesday.
>> The Rangers promoted shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa (Mid-Pacific) from Class A HIckory to Class A Advanced High Desert.
>> Baseball America named left-hander Kodi Medeiros (Waiakea) to its weekly Prospect Hot Sheet after he won both his starts for Wisconsin, allowing six hits and three runs (two earned) over 11 innings with six walks and 12 strikeouts.
>> Pitcher Ian Kahaloa (Campbell) signed with the Reds on Thursday. He was a fifth-round pick this month.
