A 52-year-old hiker died after falling 200 feet between the first and second peaks of Mount Olomana on Saturday morning, according to Emergency Medical Services.
The hiker was found unconscious, with no pulse and was not breathing, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Kendall Ching said.
Firefighters received a call at 11:47 a.m. and the first of four companies and HFD’s helicopter arrived at 11:56 a.m. The hiker was airlifted to EMS, Ching said.
Just before, at 11:30 a.m., firefighters received a call that a 29-year-old man had fallen 10 feet while rock climbing above the Makapuu Point Lighthouse Lookout, Ching said.
The rock climber suffered an injured back and was flown down from the trail.
