Men gather to stop domestic violence
About a thousand people gathered to participate in the 30th annual Men’s March Against Violence at Iolani Palace on Thursday. The march was hosted by the Domestic Violence Action Center with corporate sponsors participating along with state and local government departments and concerned citizens. The event was also held on Lanai Thursday. Other marches will be held on Maui on Friday and Kauai on Oct. 10th.

“When men take a stand against domestic violence, it has a positive and healing impact on our community,” said DVAC CEO Monique Ibarra. “It is critical that men tell other men that abuse is wrong and there’s a better way – especially after the increase in domestic violence murders we’ve seen here in Hawaii in the last year.”
