Beth Chapman’s ohana, friends and fans gathered today in Waikiki for a memorial service to commemorate the reality TV star’s life.

She died Wednesday after a long battle with cancer. She was 51. Her death was first announced in a tweet by her husband, Duane “Dog” Chapman.

“It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side,” he tweeted.

The couple split their time between homes in Hawaii and Colorado. Duane Chapman said he brought his wife home to Hawaii when cancer took a turn for the worst. Plans are being finalized for a memorial service in Colorado. Details will be announced soon.

Today’s service began at 2 p.m. at Fort DeRussy Beach in Waikiki.

Chapman’s family encourages those attending the memorial service to include #alohaoemrsdog in their social media posts.
