Police arrest suspect in Nanakuli fatal stabbing
UPDATE: 12:45 p.m.
A suspect in Tuesday’s fatal stabbing in Nanakuli was located and arrested for suspicion of second-degree murder at 10:45 a.m. today, police said.
Officers with HPD’s District 8 Crime Reduction Unit made the arrest.
The suspect remains in custody pending charges. HPD said its investigation into the incident is ongoing.

According to a police report, a female called 911 at 6:42 p.m. and reported a man being assaulted at Nanakuli Beach.
Responding officers found an unresponsive victim and immediately initiated CPR until the arrival of Honolulu Emergency Medical Services personnel, police said.
EMS said paramedics responded to the call at the beach park across from the Nanakuli McDonald’s on Farrington Highway.
The victim, had apparent stabbed wounds to the upper body and was dead on arrival, according to EMS. Paramedics assisted in the pronouncement of death.
Police said “the suspect and the victim were acquaintances and this was not a random act.”
Police have opened a second-degree murder in the case.
