Honolulu police are looking for a suspect or suspects after two 17-year-old boys were seriously injured in a shooting in Kalihi early Saturday.

The two boys were sitting on the stairs outside an apartment building at about 1:05 a.m. when someone shot at them, according to police.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services officials said paramedics treated the teens for gunshot wounds and took them to a hospital in serious condition.

Both victims “sustained non-life-threatening injuries,” police said.

Honolulu police opened a first-degree attempted murder investigation in the case.
