Maui Ohana Resource Fair helps Maui families

The Hawaii Department of Education and Department of Health, in partnership with other state agencies and community organizations, hosted the Maui Ohana Resource Fair held at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa in Kaanapali on Thursday.

The Hawaii Department of Education and Department of Health, in partnership with other state agencies and community organizations, hosted the Maui Ohana Resource Fair held at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa in Kaanapali on Thursday. The event was held to support West Maui families and students with the return back to their Lahaina school campuses next week. Pictured picking up shoes is Josafina Lazarte.

Holding a bag of Uniqlo clothing to give away is Ginger Fenna, right. Hundreds of students were provided free school supplies, clothes from Uniqlo, shoes, backpacks, books, photos, activities and entertainment at the fair.

MJ Baptista chooses some free books provided by the Hawaii Department of Education School Library Services and Office of Student Support Services.
