Police redirect traffic on Highway 19 as brush fires burn across North and South Kohala Districts on Hawaii island on Tuesday.

A list of open emergency shelters and closed schools and roads on Maui and Hawaii island:

>> EVACUATION CENTERS

Maui

Maui High School

Mayor Hannibal Tavares Community Center

War Memorial Gym

Lahaina Civic Center

Evacuees at Maui Preparatory Academy have been “notified to leave to access hotels along Kaanapali Parkway to gather belongings and evacuate Lahaina through Kahakuloa,” county officials said.

Hawaii island

Waimea Community Center

Waimea District Park

Hisaoka Gym on the island.

>> SCHOOLS

All Hawaii public schools on Maui, except Hana High & Elementary, will remain closed through Friday.

In addition to the public schools, Kamehameha Schools Maui and Aapueo Preschool are closed today.

All public libraries on the island are also closed.

>> ROADS

The following roads and highways were closed as of this morning:

Maui

All roads in Lahaina Town are closed, including between Wahikuli wayside park on the north to Kai Hele Ku Street to the south. Emergency personnel only

No traffic, except emergency personnel, is being allowed into West Maui.

Kahekili Highway at Waihee to Lahaina-bound traffic

State routes in Lahaina, Kihei, and Makawao.

Honoapiilani Highway is open for south-bound traffic only exiting Lahaina. Also open from Kaanapali Parkway, up Keawe and onto the Lahaina bypass exiting Lahaina.

Haleakala Highway (Route 377 from Kula Highway to Crater Road due to downed power lines.
