Female surfers who competed in Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational honored

Mayor Rick Blangiardi and Councilmember Matt Weyer honored six female surfers who made history and competed alongside men in the 2023 Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational. It was the first time in the contest’s 39-year history that women competed equally against men on waves that reached up to 50 feet at Waimea Bay on Jan. 22.
