Man critically injured in Keehi Lagoon Park stabbing
Honolulu police have opened a second-degree attempted murder investigation after a man was stabbed in the chest at Keehi Lagoon Park Tuesday.
Police said two men were involved in an argument while they were drinking at the park at about 6:50 p.m. The argument escalated and the suspect stabbed the victim once in the chest with a sharp object, police said. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
There are conflicting reports on the victim’s condition.
Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said the victim, possibly in his 20s, was taken in critical condition to a hospital. Police said the victim was in stable condition.
There were no arrests as of this morning.
Police noted the suspect and victim were intoxicated at the time of the stabbing.
