The family was supposed to depart on Monday back to San Jose, Calif., but their flight was delayed then canceled. The same occurred on Tuesday. They were notified that half of their luggage ended up on board a flight and now is San Jose. Major U.S. airlines broadsided by the massive weekend winter storm that swept across large swaths of the country had largely recovered heading into Monday, except for Southwest, where problems have continued to snowball.
