IBEW Local 1260 members showed solidarity with red shirts and beach hats during a rally along South King Street on Friday, June 3, 2022, in Honolulu. More than 30 employees of the Honua Ola Bioenergy plant in Pepe‘ekeo and members of ILWU Local 142 participated to protest the Public Utilities Commission’s (PUC) 2-1 majority decision denying Honua Ola’s power purchase agreement with Hawaiian Electric. They were joined by Oahu-based members of ILWU Local 142 and other unions in front of the PUC to rally and sign wave in support of Honua Ola and union jobs.
