Hawaii island police advised anyone with respiratory problems to avoid Leilani Street near the Hilo Transfer Station Thirsday night.

Hawaii island police advise anyone with respiratory problems to avoid Leilani Street near the Hilo Transfer Station as first responders fought a fire Thursday night.

The Hawaii Police Department released the health advisory at around 6:45 p.m. because of the smoke from the fire at the station’s sorting warehouse.

The fire has since been extingushed and the advisory lifted.
