City crews work to place Shaka Santa in front of Honolulu Hale ahead of the 37th annual Honolulu City Lights. The Santa sculpture has been a staple since 1989. Created in 1994, Tutu Mele received a makeover in 1998, adopting the new moniker and replacing her traditional North Pole attire with her muumuu, complete with kukui nut lei and traditional Hawaiian bracelet.
