Among those commemorating on Saturday the 7th birthday of missing Waimanalo girl Isabella Kalua, aka Ariel Sellers, was Mahina Ne, a 3-year-old Kaneohe girl wearing a purple dress. The Ne family, including mom Kanani, 27, and sister Maluhia, 8, and aunt Kuuipo, 29, (not pictured) hung a bag of teddy bears that says “Happy Birthday Ariel,” a 25-foot ti leaf lei and some Hawaiian flags along the fence near the Kaluas’ home.
“I have nieces and nephews and it was just so hard to hear this child is misssing. We still look for her on our own. My niece looks just like her and wants to look for her,” Kuuipo said.
