A University of Hawaii student receives the COVID-19 vaccine during a student vaccination clinic on April 30 at Sakamaki Hall at UH-Manoa.

Free COVID-19 vaccine clinics are being offered this month to students and employees at three University of Hawaii campuses.

Students and employees must complete a vaccine consent form, bring a government-issued photo ID, follow UH COVID-19 guidelines — including getting clearance via LumiSight UH health check prior to arriving on campus — and wear face masks indoors at all times.

On Tuesday, UH-Manoa will offer walk-in appointments from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Campus Center Dining Room for UH students and employees. A second dose will be administered three weeks later at the same location.

On Thursday, UH-Hilo will hold a clinic 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. for students only at the Hale Kehau residence hall lounge. Participants are asked to pre-register online.

The general public, along with UH students and staff, are also invited to mobile vaccination clinics at UH West Oahu on Aug. 23 and Sept. 13. Walk-in appointments will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Waianae side of the campus expansion parking lot. Online preregistration is also available; the general public is not required to use the LumiSight UH app.

A second dose for those at UHWO is scheduled for Sept. 13. Individuals needing their first dose will still be accommodated on Sept. 13, with that group’s second dose scheduled for Oct. 4.

UH said in a news release today that surveys in June showed more than 92% of students and 95% of UH employees of the entire 10-campus system have been vaccinated for COVID-19 or plan to be, after the university added COVID-19 vaccination to its student health clearance requirements on May 17.

For the fall semester, any unvaccinated UH student must submit a weekly negative COVID-19 test to be permitted on campus.
