Honolulu firefighters battle brush fire near Patsy T. Mink Central Oahu Regional Park
Honolulu firefighters battled a large brush fire just north of the Patsy T. Mink Central Oahu Regional Park Saturday afternoon.
The Honolulu Fire Department sent 17 unit with 49 firefighters to the scene near the archery range of the park, with the first firefighters arriving at 12:28 p.m., according to a news release.
“HFD has established command and worked to protect the Aquatic Center of PTMCORP. Due to limited access to the fire, crews are relying heavily on HFD tankers to supply water,” the statement said.
No injuries or roads closures were reported.
The cause of the fire was not immediately determined.
