A committee is seeking applicants to fill an open position on the Kamehameha Schools board of trustees.
Applications to replace Micah Kane, whose term ended June 30, are being accepted through Sept. 30. The five-member board of trustees, which includes Elliot Mills, Robert Nobriga, Crystal Rose and Lance Wilhelm, oversees Kamehameha Schools and its multibillion-dollar investment portfolio.
The nine-member trustee screening committee, consisting of all volunteers and appointed by the state Probate Court, will recommend three candidates to the court. The Probate Court will then appoint the new trustee to fill one five-year term with the potential for an additional five years, which would be determined by the court.
Committee members include Jason Fujimoto, Robert Fujioka, Douglas Goto, Amanda Napualani Harbottle, Malia Ka‘aihue, Maile Meyer, Michael Pietsch, Michael Rawlins and Kathleen K.S.L. Thurston.
Candidates should submit a resume, cover letter and a statement on their view of the role of a trustee, along with their vision, goals and objectives for the trust and how they would attain those goals. The committee is looking for applicants who are active community leaders and show expertise in business administration, finance and investment, strategic planning, planning and policy setting, education or law.
Applications should be mailed to the Trustee Screening Committee, c/o Inkinen Executive Search, 1003 Bishop St., Suite 1477, Honolulu, HI 96813; or emailed to executives@inkinen.com.
