Army shifts scoping meetings on Oahu training ranges to online format after Gov. Ige’s executive order
In light of new COVID-19 restrictions announced today by Gov. David Ige, the U.S. Army is shifting its in-person scoping meetings scheduled for today and Wednesday on its plans to retain leased state-owned land on Oahu for military training to an online-only format.
“Supporting our local and state officials and the health and safety of our communities and staff is our priority,” said Col. Dan Misigoy, commander, U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii, in a news release. “The transition from an in-person to virtual event was necessary to do our part to reduce large gatherings and make it possible for more people to participate with less risk to public health.”
The meetings will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. both days via Zoom:
>> Today: Webinar/Room ID: 931 4505 1145; passcode: 858113
>> Wednesday: Webinar ID: 917 8104 7214; passcode: 327318
The webinar sessions and all comments will be recorded. Both Zoom sessions will be streamed live on the garrison’s YouTube account at youtube.com/usaghawaii/live.
