A 35-year-old man and his accomplice were found guilty of a 2019 robbery in which they “brutally beat” a victim in Waikiki.

An Oahu jury on Thursday found Joshua Pulliam, 35, guilty for second-degree robbery. His accomplice, Isaac McCoy, was convicted of second-degree robbery on May 3.

The two beat their victim outside a Kuhio Avenue bar and stole his watch. The victim suffered multiple injuries.

“We are thankful for the jury’s service and for HPD’s work to investigate this case,” said Prosecuting Attorney Steve Alm in a statement. “With this conviction, both Pulliam and his accomplice, Isaiah McCoy, will face justice for their violent acts. … Because of the seriousness of this crime and the need to deter future criminal conduct, we will be seeking the maximum prison term for Pulliam at sentencing.”

The maximum prison length for a second-degree robbery is 10 years.

Sentencing for the circuit court case is scheduled on Tuesday for McCoy and Oct. 25 for Pulliam.
