Lifeguards assist paddler with damaged 1-man canoe off Diamond Head

Lifeguards from Honolulu Ocean Safety rescued a canoe paddler in distress off Diamond Head this morning.

The man was uninjured, but his one-man canoe suffered damage, according to the city’s Honolulu Emergency Services Department.

After making contact with the paddler just after 9:30 a.m. today, lifeguards towed the man safely to shore at Kaimana Beach.
