A groundbreaking and blessing ceremony was held for the Hawaiian Humane Society's Ewa Expansion at Hoopili in Ewa on Wednesday The 5.5-acre facility is the second location for HHS and will be two times larger than the one in Moiliili. It is expected to be completed at the end of 2022, and open in early 2023.

The new HHS animal transport van was brought to the ceremony. The 24-kennel van will be used as a pop-up adoption site at various events as well as spay-neuter transportation.
