Collateral damage from COVID-19 in Oahu’s retail industry has multiplied greatly in recent months and likely will get worse before the year is over, according to a new report. An assessment by commercial real estate firm Colliers International said a flood of empty retail space has hit many shopping centers — producing about 329,000 square feet of additional vacant space on the island during the first three months of this year.
