Tom Montgomery of Kaneohe holds a 12-inch reptile he caught in a tree on a Lanikai roadside. Montgomery tried to get the animal identified at a pet store, but the owner said he had never seen anything like it — and warned that it is probably illegal to keep in Hawaii.
