Letter: Taxing for nonoccupancy of homes is overreach

What are they thinking?

If we tax people for not occupying their homes, perhaps we should give them credit for not placing demands on the highways, the electrical grid, the water supply, etc.

And while Big Brother is invading our privacy, perhaps we should tax people for not driving their cars? After all, someone else could be using them.

If we pay our taxes, it is none of the government’s damned business what we do with what we own.
